The News Library allows teachers and students to be able to find newspaper articles as a PDF cutting of the original printed article or the full page that contained it; the most efficient, and legal, way of getting original articles into teaching.
It contains over 9 million newspaper articles from over 140 UK national and regional newspaper titles, covering 2006 onwards, and is updated daily. Over 750 schools are already signed up, getting articles on a variety of topics, e.g. knife crime, diet, teen pregnancy and abortion.
- Easy to use: Quickly and easily find high quality real-life material for use in lessons in a single place.
- High quality material: Comprising over 140 UK newspapers from 2006 onwards, a high degree of quality and relevancy is assured compared to a wide internet search.
- Quick PDF downloads: Find new material, or articles you’ve used before without the trouble of scanning and storage.
- News from around the UK in a single place: Demonstrate how different types of newspaper report the same story, and how different regions affected by national events.

For 2009 the service will be in beta, and we invite all schools in the UK to register for FREE. All we ask is a little time each month to answer a few questions in a monthly online survey to help us make it better.
Register or login at http://newslibrary.newspapersforschools.co.uk.
(If you are not a school, you can still access the NLA database using our commercial service, Clipsearch.)
